Our Annual Trip to Disney and Outfit Ideas

Every year, we take our annual trip to Florida around November to visit family, enjoy the nice weather (it’s getting cold here in Canada, and it’s not super hot in Orlando anymore), and, of course, go to the parks. It almost feels like a family tradition now!

This year, for the first time, we had the chance to experience Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a magical holiday event held on select nights at Magic Kingdom. When my sister-in-law suggested we should go, I knew it was a must—especially as a mom to a little girl who loves both princesses and Christmas. It felt like the perfect way to create unforgettable holiday memories!

It was such a magical experience! It’s definitely a busy event, so planning is key—arriving as early as possible (you can enter the park at 4 PM even though the party officially starts at 7 PM) makes a big difference. Before heading in, decide on your must-dos because there’s so much to enjoy: unique character meet-and-greets, festive shows and parades, free treats included with your ticket, and shorter wait times for attractions. With little ones, it’s impossible to do everything, but we made it work by prioritizing. A little pro tip: since the party ends at midnight, we brought Clara’s pajamas and toothbrush so she could get ready for bed before we left. She was fast asleep when we got home! My favorite part was watching the castle shows, fireworks, and parade—it was truly magical, and we all loved every moment!

Disney Holiday Outfit Ideas: Look Great, Have Fun and Stay Comfortable

Whether it’s your first visit to Disney World or you’re a seasoned pro, the right outfit can make all the difference in your comfort and style. Here’s everything you need to know to look fabulous and feel your best during your magical Disney adventure!

Layer Up: Orlando’s weather in November and December can be unpredictable—warm during the day but chilly at night. Layers are your best friend for staying comfy.

Comfort is King: Sneakers are always my go-to for a day at the parks. With all the walking and standing, you’ll thank yourself for choosing supportive shoes.

Festive Matching Outfits: This year, our family went all out with matching Disney holiday shirts that we bought at Disney Springs. They have a great selection of short-sleeve and long-sleeve shirts, sweaters, and even festive Crocs!

Accessories Make the Outfit: Minnie ears, holiday accessories, or Mickey Santa hats are a fun way to add some Christmas cheer to your look.

Pack Smart: A fanny pack or small backpack is great for carrying essentials like snacks, a wallet and a portable charger. If you’re with kids, bring a reusable bag for easy stroller packing and for toting around those souvenirs!
